An olive branch
Like other songs from the album, "Squeeze-Wax" has a lot of pop influences of the time. For example, the drums and the guitar seem more similar to that of popular bands like The Sundays or The Cranberries. This is not to say they don’t retain their sound: The eccentricity and creativity is there, but the slight change in sound is likely due to moving to a more well known and influential label. That or the result of exhausted creativity from earlier albums. After all, the group was not having a wonderful time making the album. Still, the speaker from the song promises “No threats, no fights, no fantasies”, so it acts like an olive branch to the audience it is intended for. No more fighting and no more thinking of “what could’ve been”
